A day before the game, Lily Ginn, a junior at WGHS, was asked about her expectations for the first playoff game she responded with, “I’m expecting us to win. Just play our best and we should go onto the next round”. Aniston Thompson’s, a sophomore at WGHS, expectations for the game was “Obviously to win but to also grow and move on”. According to Lily the team has “Definitely improved, I think we’ve gained better relationships and I think we’ve become an overall well rounded team”. Aniston also feels the same way with their improvement, “We have learned to work with each other and we have all just gotten better physically”.

WGHS are ecstatic after their first playoff win vs Sonoraville; but they are not done yet. WGHS plays Lovett home on October 21st at 12 pm, in their first sweet sixteen match in the school's history. This will lead them into their second game of the state playoffs, if they win they’ll move onto the game before the championships.
