Home Dominance
The Warriors definitely showed out at home. The fans made sure they showed up and showed out. The Warriors tallied a 9-3 Home Record, their best since the 2016-2017 Spring season, excluding the shortened Covid-19 season.
Player Performance
Although the Warriors did not make the GHSA Playoffs, many Warriors performed spectacularly. Alec Clayton, who was featured on the “Warrior Baseball Game Rewind vs. Glenwood, AL”, played great in his plate appearances. Clayton hit .421 in 19 at-bats, with 6 RBI’s. Along with the outstanding average, Clayton finished with an OBP of .560, exceeding the national average by .180. Another player who performed well, this year and throughout his career at WGHS, is Braxton Brooks. Brooks, (photo to left, photographed by Brett Fowler | The Tribune), had an amazing season at the plate and on the mound. Brooks led the team in hits, slugging percentage, doubles, runs, and triples. Brooks also had an out-of-this-world ERA, sitting at 0.58. Surprisingly enough, Brooks also tied Sawyer Bradford for the most home runs, at 1 a piece. Although the team did not make the playoffs, it was still a great season nonetheless. The graduating Varsity Warriors are as follows: Peyton Banks, Kole Houston, Jackson Wright, Braxton Brooks, Ty Trinkle, Rhett Lamerth, Aidan Watson, Garrett Wasson, and Dominic Hyatt. Congratulations to the Warriors on their fantastic winning season. The Blog Tags Widget will appear here on the published site.
